This recipe is one that my Nana used to make when I was growing up. It’s super easy and SO good. I will forever have fond memories of her making this cake, and I’m so happy I have the opportunity to make it for my family as well.
This cake is light and works really well in the Spring and Summer months. You can whip it up quick and you’re in for a sweet little treat!
Nana always made it in a single layer, but you could also make this layered and it would be so pretty!
FUN FACT : for a long time my Nana used to make Wednesday night meals for the whole church. She made homemade country cooking meals and it was my favorite. She’s always been someone to do things like that. I have the best memories of her! I don’t know that I’ll ever live up to those things she used to do, but I am thankful that I have some of her recipes and things so I can make them and think of when she was so active and doing the things she loved!
