Last month sometime I stumbled across a book that had rave reviews and was geared towards women. I tend to base my book purchases on two things : 1. the cuteness of the cover, and 2. the reviews on Amazon. This book had over 1,000 reviews on Amazon and 95% of them were 5 stars, so I felt like I wanted to give this one a chance.
I’ve been looking for ways to encourage myself lately. I’ve felt sort of in a rut..(I know, I sound like a broken record). People were saying “this book will change your life” and “say hello to your new life coach”.. and I thought HEY.. I need that! SOLD.
Introducing Girl, Wash Your Face: Stop Believing the Lies About Who You Are so You Can Become Who You Were Meant to Be by Rachel Hollis. (It’s also a newly minted NY Times bestseller!)
After the first chapter I was hooked. It’s such an easy read, and it’s great practical advice for ANY woman and any stage of life. I happened to mention it on Facebook and was so excited to find other friends who had this book on their reading list, and had already read it and loved it.
It focuses on lies that Rachel told herself and how she was able to realize the truth in relation to those lies. These are lies we all tell ourselves, every single day. It’s been so encouraging to read her words and hear her stories about the struggles so many women face, and how she overcame those struggles to be her best self. I think so many times we feel trapped within our struggles, and life most definitely does not need to be that way!
I’m about half way through the book, and my goal is to finish it this month. I’m so thankful that I came across this book!
