This past weekend Kate was finally able to get a horse riding lesson in! It was so nice being back, and she did great picking back up where she left off. We had tried so many times and rescheduled so many times, but the crazy weather we were having kept us from keeping a riding lesson appointment. She’s definitely happy to be back in the saddle again. Haha
This past weekend was also Tristan’s birthday. This year, instead of having a party at our house, we held his party at the skating rink in town. It was the BEST decision! I didn’t have to do anything but show up. No cleaning or decorating or making lots of food .. just show up and have fun. I’m so thankful I did that this year! He’s a speed demon on the skates and had the best time. I love making my kids happy and this weekend was a weekend of happiness!
My dad came in to town for Tristan’s birthday, and we really enjoyed having him here. He makes an effort to be here for every single birthday.. which we think is so special. He’s at the births of all my babies, and he’s here for all the birthdays. We haven’t ever lived exactly close to home either. On Saturday morning he took Tristan to Waffle House for breakfast. My dad really likes Waffle House, and Tristan wants to do that because it’s a “Pap thing”. I took Kate out to Starbucks while the boys had their breakfast. We don’t get to spend one on one time with our kids very often, so it was a nice treat for me to have some girl time with her.
For dinner, Tristan brought a couple of his friends along to one of our favorite pizza places. They were all so well behaved, and it was a special little treat for Tristan.
It was a great weekend!
