Since I started back to work after the holidays I’ve made a point to get up earlier in the mornings. I used to get up at 5:30 / 5:45 everyday. But, slowly I’ve crept up to it being 6:00 (or later!) before I can drag myself out of bed in the mornings. Everyone else is getting up at 6:00 as well, and it makes for some hectic mornings of everybody trying to get ready and out the door and keep our cool at the same time.
My ideal morning would be for me to wake up an hour before everyone else, drink my coffee, and then do one or two things that are productive. I’d love to work out, or work on my blog, or read some in a book, empty the dishwasher, etc. A friend of mine mentioned doing one chore thing before you leave for work in the morning. I love that idea. Productiveness makes me so happy, and I sort of feel like it would boost my mood in the morning if I knew I had already done one of my evening to do tasks.
I’ve been doing great at getting up early since I started. I started out getting up at 5:45, then went to 5:30, then went to 5:20, and now I’m at 5:10. I guess I’m just getting myself used to being up that early. My productiveness is definitely lacking right now, because all I do is make my coffee then sit on the couch and drink it while playing yahtzee on my phone. When I think about reading it sort of makes me want to go back to sleep, so I will keep adjusting my body to the time for a little bit longer, then tackle some of the productive things. (and fun things, I guess reading would be more of a fun thing)
If anyone has any great morning routine ideas, I would LOVE to hear them. I’d love to know what you do in the mornings to start your day off on the right foot. I don’t have any sort of routine yet, so I’m definitely open to suggestions!
