I am so excited about Thanksgiving. It’s one of my favorite holidays! I love the cooler weather, the crunchy leaves, the delicious food, and the family time. It’s just so much fun. A nice break from work and school and a time to make great memories with family and to recharge our batteries.
Each year we switch the Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday between families. Last year we spent Christmas with Shelby’s family, so this year its our turn to spend Thanksgiving with his family. Last year we spent Thanksgiving with my family, so we will spend Christmas with them this year. Does that make sense? Shelby’s sister and her husband will more than likely be there, too – so it should be a great time to spend with family.
Side note: when Shelby and I got married I would dream of the day when our little family and his sister’s little family could all gather together at Shelby’s parents house for the holidays, and I’m so excited that this is the 2nd year in a row we’ve all been able to get together for the holidays! (Dreams do come true! ha!)
Shelby’s mom, dad, and sister are all great cooks. So that means there will be lots of good food. I usually provide a carrot cake (maybe this year I will make two, because it goes fast!), and Shelby’s dad usually grills out at least once when we are together. Just thinking about our traditions makes me excited to get together again!
We have one more week (after this one) to get through before we get some time off for the holiday. I think it hit Shelby and I both today how quickly it’s getting here! What are your plans for Thanksgiving this year? What are your traditions? I’d love to hear all about it!
Some pictures from our Christmas time with the Tucci’s last Christmas. Excited to have some more memories to share soon!
Can you believe how much Kate has changed from last year?!
