We are coming up on 2 weeks in to the new year. Time went so fast it seems! The holiday season is over, and now we are back to our “business as usual” mode moving forward. I feel like our family had such a nice end to the year, and I’m thankful we were able to spend some good quality time together.
I’m usually all about goals and plans for the new year, but this year I’ve been taking it a little slower. I definitely spent some time thinking about 2021 and what I’d like to accomplish, but I’m sort of easing in to those plans this year. I don’t have any reason to change things up, maybe I’m just tired, but the method to my madness these last few months has been to keep plans low key. Lower expectations. It’s allowed me to rest a bit and allow things to just flow. I try to control every aspect sometimes and that can be exhausting. Happy I took a break from that!
Last year was such a crazy year for everyone. I feel like we fit 2 years worth of “stuff” in to 1 year. So many changes happened for our family. It was a hard year for the world, but thankfully life moved in the right direction for us. We were hanging on by a thread, and I’m so thankful we were given a life preserver to hold on to. New job, new city, new everything. Some really big prayers were answered, and I am so incredibly thankful, because I don’t know where we’d be right now if they weren’t.
I think the main goal for me this year is to be thankful for what we have, and to not waste the answer to prayers that we were given. I know I shared last January that I had some “big and bold prayers” that I was going to focus on. Things that had no way of coming true, but I was going to pray and ask that they would. Well, they did. I still can’t believe it sometimes.
I have some big and bold prayers for this year too. I have some things I need to work on as well. I’m looking forward to what the new year can bring, and praying that God continues to bless us.
