Happy April and happy SPRING! Fall is my absolute favorite season, but for some reason Spring is hitting a lot of high notes for me this year. I love weather in the low to mid 70’s where I can have all the windows open in the house and can enjoy the fresh air. Everything is in bloom and everyone is itching to get OUT and do fun things. I know we are!
Those who know me, and have followed my blog for a long time, know that I love making goals. I have yearly goals and a “40 before 40” list which contains goals for me to accomplish within the next 2 years. (MORE ON THAT LATER) Over the past several months I’ve gotten so off track with life and it’s left me feeling blah. I thrive on direction and structure. I thought I’d get back in the habit of creating monthly goals for myself, which will hopefully guide me in the direction I’d like to go this year.
Since this is my first month back on the goal wagon, I’m going to keep it simple. I know myself and I know that if I set too many things (new things) at once, that I fail. I’ve decided to set myself up for success instead.
- Read my book(s) – I have a huge stack of books I wanted to read this year. I need to be consistent with reading them! I tend to veg out in front of the TV or Pinterest, I can use some of that time to read instead.
- Get adequate sleep – I am an introvert who recharges with alone time, and I never get alone time. To compensate, I tend to stay up way past the time my family goes to bed just to get some time to myself. It creates a vicious cycle of being incredibly tired the next morning, and then passing on half the things I need to do, and then I feel like I failed the day. If I could just get more sleep, I could accomplish more things, and feel more happiness!
- Move my body more – I have a whole slew of health goals, and the foundation for most of those is exercise. I need to get accustomed to working out regularly.
- Remove the pressure to be perfect – this one will take more than a month to accomplish, but it’s good to at least get started.
So, pretty simple goals .. but good ones to get started with for me!
If you follow me on instagram, you know that I make a monthly dinner menu calendar. Whenever I post about it, I get several sweet friends asking if I could share it with them. I thought it may be good to just post here what we are planning to eat each week. I LOVE seeing what other people are having, because it helps me come up with ideas for my family. Maybe this will help you, too! Each week I’ll be posting our menu HERE. I’ll keep the old ones up in case you want to browse through past ones. Our first one is up now! You can also click image on the sidebar to the right to be taken to that page.
Well, that’s all folks! I hope everyone has a WONDERFUL week ahead!
